Writing Non-Fiction

During the 3rd 9 weeks we spent a lot of time reading non-fictions texts.  We learned that non-fiction books sometimes have a table of content, glossary, page numbers, labels, real pictures, pictures that look real, and an index.  We also learned that authors write non-fiction books to teach us something.  After studying non-fiction books we learned about other types of non-fiction texts including lists, recipes, lost posters and maps.  In writing, our Beach Buddies had an opportunity to create their own non-fiction pieces including a lost poster, recipe, biography, and maps.
